Miguel Falabella

Miguel Falabella (full name Miguel Falabella de Sousa Aguiar; born October 10, 1956, in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil) is one of Brazil’s most versatile and enduring artistic talents, with a career spanning over four decades. He is an accomplished actor, screenwriter, director, presenter, voice actor, playwright, and theater director . He won national acclaim for his portrayal of the snobbish, sarcastic Caco Antibes in the iconic sitcom Sai de Baixo (1996–2002) and spent nearly 15 years (1987–2002) as a popular host of Vídeo Show. Falabella has authored and co-created major TV comedy series such as Salsa e Merengue (1996), A Lua Me Disse (2005), Toma Lá, Dá Cá (2007–09), and Pé na Cova (2013–16)—establishing his voice in Brazilian television humor. A passionate advocate for theater, he has also directed and acted in acclaimed stage productions—bringing Broadway musicals to Brazil like Hairspray, The Producers, The Birdcage, Annie, and A Gaiola das Loucas. His talents extend to writing plays (e.g., A Partilha, Emily), producing, and adapting theater for the screen. In recent years, Falabella has continued working across multiple platforms. He created and directed O Coro: Sucesso, Aqui Vou Eu (2022), a musical-drama for Disney+, and appeared in Missão Porto Seguro (Undercover Party Crasher, 2025). A natural entertainer, he is also a carnival parade artist with Império da Tijuca and Rocinha samba schools. He has received multiple theater awards (Molière, Shell, Pedro Ernesto, Mambembe) and acted as a voice actor in films like Stuart Little and DragonHeart. Falabella hails from a diverse European heritage and is a father of two, Cassiano and Theo .. In May 2025, he briefly stepped away from the stage to undergo lumbar surgery to treat a herniated disc—but has since recovered and resumed work .
