Mike O'Malley is a versatile American actor, writer, and television producer. Born on October 31, 1966, in Boston, Massachusetts, and raised in New Hampshire, he began his career in the early 1990s as the host of the popular children's game shows Get the Picture and Nickelodeon Guts.He is widely recognized for his work in television, most notably for his role as Jimmy Hughes on the CBS sitcom Yes, Dear, which aired for six seasons. He also earned an Emmy Award nomination for his dramatic turn as Burt Hummel, the supportive father of a gay son, on the hit musical series Glee. His other notable TV roles include appearances on The Wire, My Name Is Earl, Parenthood, and Shameless, where he also worked as a writer.Beyond his television success, O'Malley has a significant film career with roles in movies such as Deep Impact, 28 Days, Eat Pray Love, and Sully.
