Miles Heizer

Miles Heizer (born May 16, 1994) is an American actor known for his poignant portrayals of sensitive and complex young men in high-profile television dramas. Born in Greenville, Kentucky, he moved to Los Angeles at the age of ten to pursue an acting career, quickly landing guest spots on series like CSI: Miami and ER. He first gained critical attention for his lead role as Davey Danner in the 2007 film Rails & Ties, but he is most widely recognized for his long-running television roles. For six seasons, he starred as Drew Holt on the NBC family drama Parenthood (2010–2015), playing the quiet, observant son of Lauren Graham's character. He further cemented his status as a leading voice of his generation with his portrayal of Alex Standall in the Netflix hit series 13 Reasons Why (2017–2020), a role that explored heavy themes of mental health and accountability. In the mid-2020s, Heizer’s career has continued to evolve with a shift toward leading man status and diverse storytelling. In 2025, he starred as Cameron Cope in the Netflix series Boots, based on the memoir The Pink Marine, which chronicles a young gay man’s experience in the U.S. Marine Corps. His film career also includes notable roles in the techno-thriller Nerve (2016), the groundbreaking rom-com Love, Simon (2018), and the drama Ex-Husbands (2023). Looking ahead to 2026, he joins the cast of the Netflix romantic comedy People We Meet on Vacation, portraying David, the brother of Alex Nilsen (Tom Blyth). Outside of acting, Heizer is an advocate for the LGBTQ+ community, frequently speaking about his experiences as a gay man in Hollywood, and is known for his close friendship and frequent collaborations with his former Parenthood co-star Mae Whitman.
