Minnie Driver

Minnie Driver is a British-American actress and singer renowned for her versatile performances in film, television, and music. Born Amelia Fiona Jessica Driver on January 31, 1970, in London, she spent her early years in Barbados before returning to England at age six. She is the daughter of Gaynor Churchward, a fabric designer and former couture model, and Charles Ronald Driver, a director of London United Investments. Her parents never married, and their relationship ended when she was six years old. Driver attended Bedales School in Hampshire and later studied at the Webber Douglas Academy of Dramatic Art in London. Driver's acting career began in the early 1990s, with notable roles in films such as Circle of Friends (1995), Grosse Pointe Blank (1997), and Good Will Hunting (1997), for which she received an Academy Award nomination for Best Supporting Actress. She also voiced Lady Eboshi in the English-language version of Hayao Miyazaki's Princess Mononoke (1997) and Jane Porter in Disney's Tarzan (1999) . In television, Driver starred in the acclaimed series The Riches (2007–2008), earning both Emmy and Golden Globe nominations. She also appeared in Speechless (2016–2019), About a Boy (2014–2015), and had a recurring role in Will & Grace (2002–2006) . Beyond acting, Driver is a talented singer-songwriter. She released her debut album, Everything I've Got in My Pocket, in 2004, followed by Seastories (2007) and Ask Me to Dance (2014). In 2021, Driver launched the podcast Minnie Questions with Minnie Driver, where she engages in deep conversations with guests, including Chelsea Clinton and Nick Jonas, inspired by the Proust Questionnaire . Driver has been open about her personal experiences, including a public breakup with actor Matt Damon in 1998, which she later described as devastating . She also revealed in 2016 that she was sexually assaulted at age 17 while on holiday in Greece . Now 54, Driver divides her time between London and Los Angeles. She has a son, born in 2008, from a previous relationship, and has been in a relationship with filmmaker Addison O'Dea since 2019 .
