Miranda Taylor Cosgrove is an American actress, singer, and producer, born on May 14, 1993, in Los Angeles, California. Her parents are Tom Cosgrove, who owns a dry-cleaning business, and Chris, a homemaker. At the age of three, she was discovered by a talent agent while singing and dancing at a restaurant. This led to her appearing in numerous television commercials and modeling gigs.Cosgrove's acting career began in 2001, and her film debut was as Summer Hathaway in School of Rock (2003). She then landed her breakthrough television role as the mischievous younger sister, Megan Parker, on the Nickelodeon sitcom Drake & Josh (2004–2007). Her mainstream success came with her lead role as Carly Shay in the hit Nickelodeon show iCarly (2007–2012). This role led to her being listed as the highest-paid child actor of 2012 by Guinness World Records.In addition to her acting, Cosgrove has a music career.
