Morgan Oey is a prominent Indonesian actor, model, and singer of mixed Dayak and Chinese descent. Born Handi Morgan Winata on May 25, 1990, in Singkawang, West Kalimantan, he first rose to fame as a member of the popular boy band SM*SH. The group debuted in 2010 and quickly became a major force in the Indonesian music scene.After his departure from SM*SH in 2013, Morgan made a successful transition into acting, a field he had a passion for since childhood. He quickly established himself as a versatile performer, taking on a wide range of roles in both films and television series. His early film work includes Assalamualaikum Beijing (2014), which earned him a Best New Actor award, and Ngenest (2015). He has since starred in numerous films, including Jilbab Traveler: Love Sparks in Korea (2016), Mooncake Story (2017), and the critically acclaimed horror film The Night Comes for Us (2018).In 2025, Morgan Oey starred as the lead character, Edwin, in the Indonesian action thriller film The Siege at Thorn High.
