Nagarjuna Akkineni
Nagarjuna Akkineni, born on August 29, 1959, in Chennai, is a prominent Indian actor, producer, and television presenter who is a major force in the Telugu film industry. The son of legendary actor Akkineni Nageswara Rao, he completed his bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering and a Master's in Automobile Engineering before making his acting debut. He first appeared as a child artist in his father's film Sudigundalu (1967) and later made his debut as a lead actor in the 1986 film Vikram.While his initial career had its ups and downs, he achieved superstar status with the romantic drama Geetanjali (1989) and the trendsetting action film Siva (1989), both of which were critical and commercial successes. Over his career, he has acted in more than 100 films, with a majority in Telugu, and has also worked in Hindi and Tamil cinema. He is celebrated for his versatility, having portrayed a wide range of roles from action hero to romantic lead and devotional characters in films like Annamayya (1997).Beyond acting, Nagarjuna is a successful producer and businessman, owning the production company Annapurna Studios. He is also the president of the Annapurna International School of Film and Media. For his contributions to Indian cinema, he has received numerous awards, including two National Film Awards, nine Nandi Awards, and three Filmfare Awards South. Nagarjuna has been married twice; his first marriage was to Lakshmi Daggubati, with whom he has a son, actor Naga Chaitanya. He later married actress Amala Mukherjee, and they have a son, Akhil Akkineni, who is also an actor. He is set to appear in the upcoming film Coolie.
