Nanami Kawakami

Nanami Kawakami is a prominent Japanese actress, born on October 14, 1992, in Tokyo. She is widely known for successfully transitioning from the Japanese adult video (AV) industry into mainstream acting and is also a former member of the idol group Ebisu★Muscats. Kawakami began her career in 2012 in the AV industry and made numerous appearances in Pink Films (softcore Japanese theatrical films). She was recognized for her compelling performances, winning the Best Actress Award at the 31st Pink Grand Prix in 2019, and the Best Actress award at MOOSIC LAB 2019 for the film The Modern Lovers. To focus entirely on her mainstream acting career, she announced her retirement from the AV industry and the stripper business in early 2022. She also changed her stage name from the original kanji (川上 奈々美) to a different kanji (川上 なな実), though the pronunciation remains the same. Her notable film roles include Karada wo Uttara Sayonara (2017) and Lowlife Love (2016), and she also had a guest role as Yuka in the first season of the HBO Max crime drama series, Tokyo Vice. Kawakami has also been active on the theater stage and released a solo album. In 2022, she announced her marriage and pregnancy, and she welcomed a son in January 2023.
