Nash Edgerton is an Australian filmmaker, stuntman, and actor born on January 19, 1973, in Blacktown, New South Wales. He is the younger brother of actor Joel Edgerton. Nash began his career as a stunt performer, contributing to major films such as The Matrix trilogy, Star Wars: Episode II – Attack of the Clones, Star Wars: Episode III – Revenge of the Sith, and Superman Returns. His notable role was as Ewan McGregor’s stunt double for Obi-Wan Kenobi in the Star Wars prequels. Transitioning into directing, Nash gained recognition for his short films Spider (2007) and Bear (2011), which showcased his flair for dark humor and tension. His feature directorial debut was The Square (2008), a neo-noir thriller that received critical acclaim. He also directed the 2018 action-comedy Gringo, starring David Oyelowo and Charlize Theron. From 2018 to 2021, Nash directed all episodes of the Australian black comedy-drama series Mr Inbetween, created by Scott Ryan. His stepdaughter, Chika Yasumura, appeared in the series as the daughter of Ryan's character. Nash is married to Carla Ruffino, and they have one daughter together, born in 2015. Beyond his film work, Nash has directed several music videos for artists such as Bob Dylan, Eskimo Joe, and The Sleepy Jackson.
