Natasha Kermani
Natasha Kermani is an Iranian-American writer and director based in Los Angeles, and a co-founder of the independent production company Illium Pictures. She developed an early passion for filmmaking and graduated from the New York University (NYU) Tisch School of the Arts.Kermani's directing style is characterized by fascinating character studies and surreal world-building, often exploring psychological horror and societal themes. She is known for building suspense and tension, with her work drawing comparisons to Alfred Hitchcock. She focuses on adapting classic stories to examine contemporary anxieties, using atmospheric settings and exploring concepts of "otherness."Her filmography includes features such as "Imitation Girl" (2017), a sci-fi film exploring identity and duality, and "Lucky" (2020), a satirical slasher that delves into women's fears and gaslighting. She also contributed the segment "TKNOGD" to the found-footage horror anthology "V/H/S/85" (2023). Her latest film is "Abraham's Boys: A Dracula Story" (2025), which she co-wrote and directed, reimagining the Van Helsing family and exploring generational trauma.Beyond her work in film and television, Kermani is also a violinist who performs with local bands and ensembles.
