Nathalie Richard is a French actress born on January 6, 1963, in Paris. She began her artistic journey with dance and ice-skating during her childhood and spent a year in New York with the Karole Armitage company. Upon returning to France, she studied at the Conservatoire national supérieur d'art dramatique, graduating in 1986. She made her film debut at 21 in the 1983 Norwegian romance Black Crowes. Her breakthrough came in 1988 with Jacques Rivette's La Bande des quatre, earning her the Prix Michel Simon for Most Promising Actress. Richard's filmography includes notable roles in Irma Vep (1996), Caché (2005), and Never Let Me Go (2010). She also co-wrote and starred in Haut Bas Fragile (1995), a musical comedy set in Paris. In 2018, she performed in the play À la trace at the Théâtre National de Strasbourg, exploring mother-daughter relationships through a multimedia approach.
