Nathan Mack

Nathan Mack (born April 15, 2007) is a British actor who gained international recognition for his role as Chip Potts, the plucky young teacup, in the 2017 live-action adaptation of Beauty and the Beast. Born in Dunmow, Essex, he began his acting journey at the age of seven after joining the Stagecoach Performing Arts School, where his talent was quickly recognized, leading him to secure professional representation. His film debut in the Disney blockbuster saw him performing alongside Hollywood veterans like Emma Thompson (who played his mother, Mrs. Potts) and Ian McKellen. Despite the heavy use of CGI for his character during most of the film, Mack provided the voice and facial expressions for Chip, and he appeared in his human form during the film's celebratory finale. Beyond his breakout role in Beauty and the Beast, Mack had previously appeared as Tyler in the 2014 television drama series Babylon. He is also a talented musician, having played the drums since age five, and has contributed his vocals to the Beauty and the Beast soundtrack on songs such as "Something There" and "The Mob Song." Interestingly, he shares a birthday with three of his major co-stars from the film: Emma Watson, Emma Thompson, and Luke Evans. Now in his late teens, Mack has expressed a passion for iconic British roles, citing James Bond and the Doctor from Doctor Who as his dream future projects.
