Nathaniel Appiah
Nathaniel Appiah is a rising Canadian actor whose career gained significant momentum with his breakout role in the 2023 Amazon Original film Totally Killer. In this high-profile slasher-comedy, he portrays the teenage version of Doug Summers, a pivotal character in the 1987 timeline whose complex history and personal vendettas drive the central mystery of the "Sweet Sixteen" murders. His performance earned him recognition for balancing the vulnerability of a social outcast with the darker nuances required for the film's climactic twists. Before his notable turn in Totally Killer, Appiah built a diverse portfolio in television, appearing in high-concept series such as the Starz fantasy drama American Gods, where he played a singing male slave in a historical sequence, and the popular CBS sitcom Ghosts, where he appeared in a second-season episode titled "The Liquor License." Beyond these major projects, Appiah's early filmography includes appearances in various short films and independent projects such as Poop Emoji (2017), Stitched Up, and Late Night in the Studio, which showcased his versatility across genres ranging from comedy to thriller. As a Black Canadian actor, he is part of a new generation of talent emerging from the Vancouver-based film industry, frequently working with major production houses like Blumhouse Television.
