Neena Gupta (born June 4, 1959, in Kolkata) is a distinguished Indian actress and television director known for her powerful and nuanced performances across both art-house and commercial cinema. A graduate of the National School of Drama, Neena has been active in the entertainment industry since 1982 and has earned several prestigious awards, including multiple National Film Awards and a Filmfare Award. Her career spans over four decades and includes memorable roles in films like Badhaai Ho (2018), where she portrayed a middle-aged pregnant woman and won the Filmfare Critics Award for Best Actress. She also appeared in Uunchai (2022), for which she received the National Film Award for Best Supporting Actress, and the critically acclaimed anthology Lust Stories 2 (2023).
