Ngọc Diệp
Born on October 11, 1984, in Ho Chi Minh City, Đinh Ngọc Diệp is a multi-talented Vietnamese actress, journalist, and film producer renowned for her intellect as much as her screen presence. Before entering show business, she established a formidable academic reputation, graduating as the valedictorian of the entrance exam for the Journalism and Communication department at the University of Social Sciences and Humanities. She holds two bachelor's degrees—one in Journalism and another in International Relations—and later earned a Master’s degree in Communication from the University of Stirling in the United Kingdom. Her career began in journalism and modeling, where she won the "Miss Vietnam Jewel" title in 2006, before she transitioned into acting and became a household name through popular television series like Hoa Dã Quỳ and films such as Passport to Love and Battle of the Brides. In her professional and personal life, Đinh Ngọc Diệp is famously the wife and creative partner of the visionary director Victor Vu, whom she married in 2015. Over the last decade, she has moved beyond acting to become a key figure behind the scenes, serving as a producer and creative consultant on many of her husband's major projects. Despite her executive roles, she continues to take on selective acting parts that showcase her range, such as her role as the Second Wife in The Last Wife (Người Vợ Cuối Cùng, 2023). Her portrayal of the quirky, fashion-conscious, and somewhat eccentric "Madam" provided a necessary touch of levity and humanity to the film's heavy atmosphere. Most recently, she reprised her collaborative streak with her husband in the 2025 mystery-thriller Thám Tử Kiên (Detective Kien), further cementing her status as a versatile "muse" of Vietnamese cinema who balances a high-profile career with a deeply private and academic approach to the arts.
