Nicholas George Mohammed, born on October 4, 1980, in Leeds, West Yorkshire, England, is a British actor, comedian, and writer. After turning down an offer from Cambridge University, he pursued geophysics at Durham University, graduating with a first-class degree. While at Durham, he became involved in the local comedy scene. Though he later accepted an offer from Cambridge to pursue a doctorate in seismology, he did not complete it, as he was spotted by a BBC producer after joining the Footlights Revue and appearing at the Edinburgh Fringe, leading to radio work.Mohammed has since built a diverse career across film, television, and radio. He is well-known for creating and starring in the Sky One comedy series Intelligence and for his role as Nathan Shelley in the Apple TV+ series Ted Lasso, for which he received Emmy nominations. His other notable television appearances include Miranda, Life's Too Short, Drifters, Uncle, and Inside No. 9. On film, he has lent his voice to Piglet in Disney's Christopher Robin and Dr. Fry in Chicken Run: Dawn of the Nugget, and appeared in The Martian and Bridget Jones's Baby. Mohammed also created and performs the popular character Mr. Swallow, who has been featured in live shows and television appearances like 8 Out of 10 Cats Does Countdown. He is married to Becca, whom he met at Durham University, and they have three children.
