Nico Antonio is a Filipino actor, producer, and singer born on May 24, 1983, in Manila, Philippines. He is the eldest of four siblings, with his mother, Joji Alonso, being a film producer. Nico graduated with a degree in European Studies from Ateneo de Manila University and later pursued law at San Beda College of Law. He also completed his studies at San Sebastian College as a working student. Nico began his career in the entertainment industry in 2004 and has since become known for his versatile roles in both film and television . Throughout his career, Nico has portrayed a wide range of characters, including LGBTQ+ roles, which he views as opportunities to inspire and give voice to marginalized communities. He has expressed pride in taking on such roles, emphasizing their importance in representation . Nico's performances have garnered critical acclaim, earning him nominations and awards from various prestigious institutions. Notably, he received the Best Supporting Actor award at the 2021 Metro Manila Film Festival for his role in Big Night! He was also nominated for Best Supporting Actor at the 2022 FAMAS Awards for the same film. In addition to his work in the Philippines, Nico expanded his international presence by joining the cast of the Korean action series Big Bet, a Disney+ original. In this series, he portrayed Mark Flores, a CIDG operative investigating the killings of Korean citizens in the Philippines. His involvement in this project marked a significant milestone in his career, showcasing Filipino talent on a global platform.
