Nico Panagio is a South African actor, television presenter, and producer of Greek descent, born on August 25, 1973, in Pretoria. He began his career in the entertainment industry after completing his military service in the South African Navy, where he was appointed Captain of his Division and ranked Able Seaman. Following his service, Panagio worked in the corporate sector before pursuing his passion for drama by studying at the Method Actors Training Centre. Panagio gained prominence in 2001 with his role as George Kyriakis in the SABC2 soap opera 7de Laan, a character written specifically for him. He later starred in Vallei van Sluiers (2010–2015) and Legacy (2021) on M-Net. Since 2010, he has been the host of Survivor South Africa, becoming a familiar face to audiences . In addition to his television work, Panagio has appeared in several South African films, including Semi-Soet (2012), Konfetti (2014), and Vuil Wasgoed (2017).
