Nils Jørgen Kaalstad
Nils Jørgen Kaalstad is a highly regarded Norwegian actor and musician, born on January 23, 1979, in Bærum, Norway. He began his career as a child actor, participating in Bærum Children's Theatre from 1985 to 1997, and later graduated from the Norwegian National Academy of Theatre (Statens Teaterhøgskole) in 2007. Since 2009, he has been a permanent member of the ensemble at Norway's largest spoken theatre, the Nationaltheatret in Oslo, and has won critical acclaim, including the Heddaprisen (Hedda Award) in 2019 for Best Supporting Male Actor for his role in the play Uten navn. Internationally, Kaalstad is best known for his comedic and dramatic roles in successful Netflix series: as the laid-back Viking Arvid in the historical comedy Norsemen (2016–2020) and as the sympathetic local cab driver Dag Solstad in the crime-comedy series Lilyhammer (2012–2014). His film credits include the thrillers Headhunters (2011) and Sons (2006). Beyond acting, he is also a musician who performs electronic club music under the stage name Sideshow Jøgge.
