Nina West

Nina West is the stage name of Andrew Robert Levitt, an American drag queen, actor, singer-songwriter, and queer activist primarily based in Columbus, Ohio. Born in Greentown, Ohio, Levitt began his drag career in 2001, developing a "classic and campy" persona. He gained national and international recognition after competing on the eleventh season of RuPaul's Drag Race in 2019, where he finished sixth and was crowned Miss Congeniality. His post-Drag Race career has been prolific; he became the first person to walk the Primetime Emmy Awards purple carpet in full drag and has since returned to the franchise as a mentor and guest. Beyond reality television, Levitt has an extensive career in entertainment, including releasing three EPs (Drag Is Magic, John Goodman, and The West Christmas Ever), and performing in numerous stage productions. Notably, he starred as Edna Turnblad in the 2021-2022 national tour of Broadway's Hairspray and recently appeared in the film Queens of the Dead. As an advocate, Levitt is openly gay and a dedicated fundraiser for the LGBTQIA+ community, focusing on issues such as equality, healthcare access, and childhood education; he established The Nina West Fund at The Columbus Foundation in 2015, which has raised millions of dollars for local charities.
