Nnamdi Asomugha is a multi-talented American actor, producer, director, and former professional football player. Born on July 6, 1981, in Lafayette, Louisiana, he is of Nigerian descent. Asomugha had a distinguished career in the NFL, playing cornerback for the Oakland Raiders, Philadelphia Eagles, and San Francisco 49ers from 2003 to 2013. He was a four-time All-Pro and three-time Pro Bowl selection.After retiring from football, Asomugha transitioned to a career in the entertainment industry. He co-founded iAm21 Entertainment, a production company with his partner, Jonathan T. Baker. He has since been involved in numerous critically acclaimed projects as an actor and producer. His producing credits include the films Crown Heights (2017) and The Banker (2020), as well as the documentary The One and Only Dick Gregory (2021), which earned him an Emmy nomination. As an actor, he gained widespread recognition for his starring role in the film Sylvie's Love (2020), for which he also received an Emmy nomination as a producer.In 2024, Asomugha made his feature directorial and screenwriting debut with the psychological drama film The Knife, which he also starred in.
