Norbert Leo Butz

Norbert Leo Butz is an American actor and singer renowned for his dynamic performances on Broadway and in film and television. Born on January 30, 1967, in St. Louis, Missouri, he is the seventh of eleven children. He earned a BFA from Webster University and an MFA from the University of Alabama's Professional Actor Training Program. Butz is one of only nine actors to have won the Tony Award for Best Actor in a Musical twice, for his roles in Dirty Rotten Scoundrels (2005) and Catch Me If You Can (2011) . His Broadway credits include Wicked (2003), where he originated the role of Fiyero, and My Fair Lady (2018), for which he received a Tony nomination. Off-Broadway, he has appeared in The Last Five Years, The Last Five Years, and The Last Five Years. On screen, Butz has featured in films such as Dan in Real Life (2007), Higher Ground (2011), and Luce (2019). His television roles include Bloodline (2015–2017), Mercy Street (2016–2017), and The Girl from Plainville (2022) . In 2023, he starred in The Exorcist: Believer .
