Octavio Hinojosa Martínez is a Mexican actor, director, and writer born on October 7, 1981, in Monterrey, Nuevo León, Mexico. He began his career in the entertainment industry in 2007, initially working as a host for the program Life After Film School on FX in Los Angeles. After returning to Mexico, he worked as a screenwriter for TV Azteca, contributing to telenovelas such as Mujer Comprada (2009), Vidas Robadas (2010), and A Cada Quien Su Santo (2009–2011). He also hosted entertainment programs like Farándula 40 and Celebrity Al Descubierto on Az Clic. As an actor, he participated in telenovelas like La Fiscal de Hierro (2017) and La Piloto (2017) on Univision. In 2013, he made his film debut in En Donde Chocan Las Olas directed by Abraham Miranda. He is also known for his role as Gonzo in the Amazon Prime Video series Cómo Sobrevivir Soltero . In 2023, Hinojosa gained international recognition for his role as Mateo in Saw X, the tenth installment of the Saw horror franchise. In the film, Mateo is a veterinarian who is part of a group of fraudsters convincing John Kramer (Jigsaw) to visit Mexico under the false promise of curing his illness . Filmed primarily in Mexico City, Saw X features a predominantly Mexican cast, including Renata Vaca, Paulette Hernández, and Joshua Okamoto . Hinojosa has also appeared in other projects such as Juega Conmigo (2021) and the series Mala Fortuna (2023) .
