Oleksandr Usyk
Oleksandr Oleksandrovych Usyk, born on January 17, 1987, is a Ukrainian professional boxer and one of the most accomplished fighters of his generation. Known for his exceptional technical skill, speed, and footwork, he is a former undisputed champion in two weight classes, a rare feat in boxing history. He first achieved this at cruiserweight, unifying all four major world titles (WBA, WBC, IBF, and WBO) in 2018.Following his cruiserweight dominance, Usyk moved up to the heavyweight division, where he continued his success. He defeated Anthony Joshua twice to win the WBA, IBF, WBO, and IBO heavyweight titles, and then defeated Tyson Fury in 2024 to become the first undisputed heavyweight champion in the four-belt era. With a perfect professional record of 24 wins and 0 losses (with 15 knockouts), Usyk is widely regarded as one of the best pound-for-pound boxers in the world.Beyond his professional career, Usyk had a decorated amateur career, which included a gold medal in the heavyweight division at the 2012 London Olympics and a gold medal at the 2011 World Championships. His fighting style is often described as fluid and elusive, earning him the nickname "The Cat." He utilizes his southpaw stance, excellent movement, and high-volume punching to outmaneuver and outwork his opponents, even those who are significantly larger than him.
