Orlando Jonathan Blanchard Copeland Bloom is an English actor, born on January 13, 1977, in Canterbury, Kent. Raised in a creative environment, his mother encouraged his artistic pursuits, and he developed an early interest in acting. Despite battling dyslexia, he pursued art and drama classes, eventually joining the National Youth Theatre at 16 and receiving a scholarship to train at the British American Drama Academy. He made his professional screen debut in the 1997 film Wilde.His breakthrough came just two days after graduating from the Guildhall School of Music and Drama in 1999, when he was cast as Legolas in Peter Jackson's The Lord of the Rings film series (2001-2003). This iconic role catapulted him to international stardom. He further cemented his status as a leading man in epic fantasy and adventure films with his portrayal of Will Turner in the Pirates of the Caribbean series (2003-2007, 2017).
