Osman Alkaş

Osman Alkaş is a highly respected Turkish Cypriot actor, born on November 3, 1955, in Nicosia, British Cyprus. His passion for the performing arts led him to graduate from the Ankara State Conservatory Department of Acting in 1976. Upon returning to Cyprus, he initially worked with the Turkish Cypriot State Theater. A pivotal moment in his career came in 1980 when he co-founded the Nicosia Municipal Theater alongside Yaşar Ersoy, Işın Cem, and Erol Refikoğlu, an institution where he remains actively involved.Beyond the stage, Alkaş made significant contributions to Cypriot media, notably co-creating and producing "Torba," a highly popular sketch comedy program among the Turkish Cypriot community, which even led him to co-establish "Tempo TV." His television career includes roles in prominent series such as "Öyle Bir Geçer Zaman ki" (Time Goes By) and "Vatanım Sensin" (Wounded Love), "Alef," and "Wild Heart."In cinema, Alkaş has appeared in numerous films, earning particular praise for his role in "Sarmaşık" (Ivy). Other notable film credits include "Gölgeler ve Suretler" (Shadows and Faces), "Uzun Hikaye" (A Long Story), "Hükümet Kadın 2" (Government Woman 2), "Mortal World," "Art of Love," and the 2025 release "Another You" (Başka Bir Sen), where he played the character of Erkin's father.
