His acting career began in 1983 with the telenovela "Cara a cara," and he steadily gained prominence through lead roles in numerous acclaimed soap operas and films, including "Más allá del horizonte," "Campeones de la vida" (for which he won a Martín Fierro Award in 2000), "Amor en custodia" (earning another Martín Fierro Award in 2005), and "Soy gitano." Beyond his prolific acting career, Laport is also a dedicated humanitarian, serving as the first regional UNHCR Goodwill Ambassador for Latin America since 2006, actively raising awareness for refugee causes.
