Born on June 3, 1985, in Brooklyn and raised in Queens, he is the only son of driven Nigerian parents. Abit attended Archbishop Molloy High School and later completed his education at St. John's University, where he played Division I basketball and earned degrees in Communications and Theater Studies, along with a minor in Business . Abit's career began with an internship at The Labyrinth Theater Company, followed by a role as assistant director for the 2011 Broadway revival of That Championship Season, directed by Gregory Mosher and starring Kiefer Sutherland and Chris Noth. He then transitioned into acting, securing roles in television series such as The Defenders, The Night Of, Blackish, and The Slap, as well as films like The Humbling (opposite Al Pacino), Romeo & Juliet in Harlem, and portraying Marsha P. Johnson in Roland Emmerich's Stonewall . In 2018, Abit wrote, directed, produced, and starred in the short film Jitters, which explores themes of love and identity. The film, featuring a same-sex romance set against the backdrop of a Christmas wedding, premiered globally on Netflix in November 2020 . Abit is the founder of Willful Productions, a company dedicated to creating inclusive and thought-provoking narratives. His work continues to challenge traditional storytelling by exploring themes of identity, love, and social justice.
