Pablo Chiapella Cámara, often known by his nickname Chape, is a Spanish actor and comedian born on December 1, 1976, in Ayora, Valencia, and raised in Albacete, Spain. Although he initially earned a diploma in Physical Education Teaching, he later dedicated himself fully to the performing arts, earning a degree in Dramatic Arts. Chiapella is one of the most recognizable faces in Spanish television comedy, largely due to his long-running and iconic role as Amador Rivas in the hugely popular Telecinco series 'La que se avecina' (Since 2007). His character, a divorced, unemployed former bank employee and perpetually unsuccessful ladies' man, is known for his signature catchphrase "¡Mandanga style!" Prior to this, he appeared in the final season of the predecessor series, Aquí no hay quien viva, as Moncho Heredia. He is also a key member of the "Cuarteto de Albacete" (Albacete Quartet), a group of comedians that includes Joaquín Reyes (whom you previously asked about), Ernesto Sevilla, and Raúl Cimas. This group was foundational to the influential surreal comedy programs 'La Hora Chanante' (2002–2006) and 'Muchachada Nui' (2007–2010), where Chiapella performed various skits and roles. His film work includes a role in Sorry If I Call You Love (2014) and more recently, the family comedy 'Full of Grace' (2022) and the upcoming sequel 'The Night My Dad Saved Christmas 2' (2025). He also frequently performs stand-up comedy and has taken on presenting roles, diversifying his career across various media.
