Park Hee-soon is a highly respected and veteran South Korean actor born on February 13, 1970, in Seoul. He is celebrated for his intense, charismatic, and powerful supporting and leading roles, often portraying complex characters such as detectives, villains, or morally ambiguous figures, with a voice and screen presence that commands attention. A graduate of the Seoul Institute of the Arts with a degree in Theater, he built his early career in stage acting, where he was a member of the prestigious Mokwha Repertory Company from 1990 to 2001. He transitioned to film and gained his breakthrough with his critically acclaimed performance as a tough cop in the 2007 thriller Seven Days, which earned him multiple Best Supporting Actor awards, including the Blue Dragon Film Award.His career is marked by versatility and significant collaborations, including award-winning roles in films like The Scam (2009) and the political thriller 1987: When the Day Comes (2017). In recent years, Park Hee-soon has achieved global fame through successful appearances in OTT series. He is internationally recognized for his compelling performance as the ruthless drug boss Choi Mu-jin in the Netflix action-noir series My Name (2021) and his role in the acclaimed Disney+ sci-fi series Moving (2023). He is also known for playing James, a professional con artist, in the 2025 Coupang Play drama Confidence Queen. He is married to actress Park Ye-jin (m. 2015). His movies include the 2025 Park Chan-wook film No Other Choice and the 2026 MBC drama Judge Lee Han-young.
