Patricia Heaton is an accomplished American actress and producer, born on March 4, 1958, in Bay Village, Ohio. Raised in a devout Catholic family as the youngest of five children, her father was a sportswriter for The Plain Dealer. Heaton pursued her passion for acting, earning a Bachelor of Arts in drama from Ohio State University. She then moved to New York City to study with renowned drama teacher William Esper. Her early career included her Broadway debut in the chorus of "Don't Get God Started" (1987), after which she co-founded the off-Broadway acting troupe Stage Three.Heaton gained significant recognition for her recurring role in the ABC drama series "Thirtysomething" (1989-1991) and appeared in films like "Memoirs of an Invisible Man" and "Beethoven" (both 1992). However, it was her iconic role as Debra Barone in the CBS sitcom "Everybody Loves Raymond" (1996-2005) that catapulted her to stardom. For her portrayal of Debra, she won two Primetime Emmy Awards for Outstanding Lead Actress in a Comedy Series and received multiple other nominations.Following the success of "Everybody Loves Raymond," Heaton continued her successful television career, starring as Frankie Heck in the ABC sitcom "The Middle" (2009-2018), for which she also received critical acclaim. More recently, she starred in the CBS comedy "Carol's Second Act" (2019-2020) and appeared in the 2025 film "The Unbreakable Boy."Beyond acting, Patricia Heaton is also a producer, with credits including "Moms' Night Out" and "The Christmas Heart." Married to British actor and producer David Hunt since 1990, they have four sons. Heaton is also known for her philanthropic work as a Celebrity Ambassador for World Vision. In recognition of her contributions to the entertainment industry, she received a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame in 2012.
