Paul Norell is a British-born actor who has spent the majority of his extensive career in New Zealand. Born on February 11, 1952, in London, England, he relocated to New Zealand in 1980 and has since built a diverse career spanning over thirty years in stage, television, and film. Beyond acting, Norell has also worked as a teacher, casting assistant, and acting tutor, even co-directing a joint casting/audition tuition agency in Auckland for five years. He is perhaps best known internationally for his role as the King of the Dead in Peter Jackson's "The Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King" (2003). His other notable screen credits include playing the recurring character Falafel in "Hercules: The Legendary Journeys" and appearances in "Xena: Warrior Princess," "Power Rangers: SPD," "Shortland Street," "Mercy Peak," "The Royal Treatment," and "River Queen." He has also had a significant stage career, taking on roles such as Salieri in "Amadeus," Dracula in "Dracula," and Malvolio in "Twelfth Night."
