Philip D'Oyly "Pip" Torrens is an English actor born on June 2, 1960, in Bromley, Kent, England. He pursued his education at Trinity College, Cambridge, where he studied English Literature, and later honed his acting skills at Drama Studio London. Torrens began his acting career in 1984 and has since established a prolific presence in both film and television, often recognized for portraying urbane and authoritative figures. His extensive filmography includes roles in notable productions such as "The Danish Girl," "The Iron Lady," "War Horse," "Star Wars: The Force Awakens," and "Pride & Prejudice." On television, he is widely known for his performances as Tommy Lascelles in "The Crown," Lord Massen in "The Nevers," Herr Klaus Starr in "Preacher," and for leading roles in "Poldark" and "Versailles."
