Polly Draper is an accomplished American actress, writer, producer, and director, born on June 15, 1955, in Gary, Indiana. She holds a Bachelor of Arts and a Master of Fine Arts from Yale University. Draper rose to prominence for her starring role as Ellyn Warren in the critically acclaimed ABC drama series Thirtysomething (1987–1991), which earned her an Emmy nomination.Beyond acting, Draper has made significant contributions behind the camera. She wrote the screenplay for the 1998 film The Tic Code, which was inspired by her second husband, jazz musician Michael Wolff, who has Tourette Syndrome; she also starred in the film. Her work on The Tic Code earned her a Bronze Gryphon award for Best Actress at the Giffoni Film Festival.
