Rachael Blake is an Australian actress born on May 26, 1971, in Perth, Western Australia. She spent a portion of her childhood in England before returning to Perth at age 11. Blake was born deaf in one ear, a condition that was rectified by surgery before she was six. To overcome shyness and her hearing problems, her mother enrolled her in elocution lessons, which she continued until age 17. After being initially rejected from the National Institute of Dramatic Art (NIDA) in Sydney for being too young, she was accepted when she was 19.Blake began her career in Australian television, appearing in shows like Home and Away, Pacific Drive, and Heartbreak High. Her breakthrough role came in the 1997 crime drama Wildside, for which she won a Silver Logie Award. She has since appeared in a wide range of film and television roles both in Australia and internationally.Her notable film credits include Lantana (2001), for which she won an IF Award for Best Actress, and the erotic drama Sleeping Beauty (2011). She also appeared in the 2016 film Gods of Egypt as Isis. In television, she is known for her roles in The Man in the High Castle, Cleverman, and the recent series Wolf Like Me. In 2003, she married her Wildside co-star, actor Tony Martin.
