Rachel Griffiths is an acclaimed Australian actress, director, and producer, known for her powerful performances across film, television, and stage. Born on December 18, 1968, in Melbourne, she rose to prominence with her breakout role as Rhonda in the beloved Australian film Muriel’s Wedding (1994). She gained international recognition and an Academy Award nomination for her performance in Hilary and Jackie (1998).On television, Griffiths is widely celebrated for her roles as Brenda Chenowith in HBO’s Six Feet Under and Sarah Walker in Brothers & Sisters, both of which earned her multiple Emmy and Golden Globe nominations, along with ensemble awards. Her other notable screen credits include My Best Friend’s Wedding, Blow, Saving Mr. Banks, Hacksaw Ridge, and a role in Anyone But You (2023).Beyond acting, she has also made her mark as a director.
