Radhika Apte (born September 7, 1985, in Vellore, Tamil Nadu) is an acclaimed Indian actress celebrated for her versatile performances across Hindi, Marathi, Bengali, and international cinema. Raised in Pune, she pursued Economics and Mathematics at Fergusson College and trained in Kathak under Rohini Bhate for eight years. Apte began her acting career in theatre before transitioning to film with a brief role in Vaah! Life Ho Toh Aisi! (2005). Her breakthrough came with the Bengali film Antaheen (2009), earning her critical acclaim. In 2015, Apte gained prominence with notable roles in Badlapur, Hunterrr, and Manjhi – The Mountain Man. She further established herself with leading performances in Phobia and Parched (2016). Apte's international recognition grew with her roles in Netflix's Lust Stories, Sacred Games, and Ghoul (2018), earning her an International Emmy nomination. Beyond acting, Apte made her directorial debut with the short film The Sleepwalkers (2020), which was showcased at the Palm Springs International ShortFest. She is married to British musician and composer Benedict Taylor, known for his work on films like Udta Punjab and Newton. The couple welcomed their first child, a daughter, in December 2024 .
