Raúl Arévalo Zorzo is a Spanish actor and director born on November 22, 1979, in Móstoles, Spain. He began his career in 2001 with the television series Compañeros and made his feature film debut in 2003. His breakthrough performance came in the 2006 film Dark Blue Almost Black, which earned him several awards, including the Best New Actor award at the 16th Actors and Actresses Union Awards. Throughout his career, he has appeared in numerous acclaimed films such as Seven Billiard Tables (2007), The Blind Sunflowers (2008), Fat People (2009)—for which he won a Goya Award for Best Supporting Actor—Cousinhood (2011), I'm So Excited (2013), and Marshland (2014). He is also known for television roles in series like La embajada and Riot Police. In 2016, Arévalo made his full-length directorial and screenwriting debut with the highly acclaimed thriller The Fury of a Patient Man (Tarde para la ira), for which he won the Goya Awards for Best New Director and Best Original Screenplay, among other accolades. He is the recipient of multiple awards, including three Goya Awards, three Actors and Actresses Union Awards, and two Feroz Awards.
