Ravindra Vijay

Ravindra Vijay is an Indian actor who has made a significant mark in the South Indian film industries, particularly in Telugu and Tamil cinema, known for his ability to portray intense and nuanced supporting and character roles. Born and raised in Bangalore, Karnataka, he initially pursued a career in medicine, earning a degree from Bangalore Medical College and Research Institute and even working briefly as a doctor on an oil rig. His passion for acting, however, led him to quit medicine to pursue theatre full-time, starting with the Bengaluru-based theatre troupe Rafiki in 2005 and later moving to Chennai to join the collective Perch. Vijay made his film debut in both Tamil and Hindi in 2016 with Irudhi Suttru / Saala Khadoos. His major breakthrough came with the Telugu black comedy Uma Maheswara Ugra Roopasya (2020), where his impactful portrayal of the antagonist Jognath earned him widespread recognition and meme-fame. He cemented his pan-Indian appeal with his role as Muthu Pandian, a Chennai-based intelligence officer, in the critically acclaimed Amazon Prime web series The Family Man Season 2 (2021). Since then, he has consistently delivered memorable performances in films like Kadaram Kondan (2019), Dharala Prabhu (2020), Keedaa Cola (2023), and the recent political comedy Raghu Thatha (2024), establishing himself as a highly versatile and sought-after multilingual actor.
