Raza Jaffrey
Raza Jaffrey is a versatile British actor and singer, best known for his roles in prominent television series on both sides of the Atlantic. Born on May 28, 1975, in Liverpool and raised in London, he is the son of an Indian father who was a ship's captain from Agra, and an English-Irish mother. He studied English and Drama at the University of Manchester and later trained at the Bristol Old Vic Theatre School. Jaffrey began his career on the stage, notably landing his breakthrough role as Sky in the London production of the musical Mamma Mia! in 2001, followed by critical acclaim for his lead role in Andrew Lloyd Webber's production of Bombay Dreams. He gained significant popularity in the UK for his role as the intelligence officer Zafar Younis in the popular BBC spy drama Spooks (2004–2007). He has since crossed over into American television, appearing as Lieutenant Colonel Aasar Khan in the critically acclaimed Season 4 of Homeland (2014) and as Dr. Neal Hudson on the CBS medical drama Code Black (2015–2016). His film credits include Eastern Promises (2007) and Sex and the City 2 (2010). Jaffrey is also known for his role as François de Guise in The Serpent Queen and for voicing Vinod Chanda in the animated series Pantheon. He has been married to actress Lara Pulver since 2014, and they have a son.
