Richard Dillane
Richard Dillane is an English actor, born in Kent, who is the older brother of fellow actor Stephen Dillane. He earned a philosophy degree from Manchester University and subsequently spent ten years in Australia, where he worked as a white-water rafting guide, an actor, and a director before returning to the UK. Known for his versatility, Dillane has an extensive career across film, television, and theatre, dating back to 1995. His notable film roles include OSS Officer Nicholls in Ben Affleck's Oscar-winning thriller Argo (2012), Merv Humphreys in the drama Oranges and Sunshine (2010), and a role in The Dark Knight (2008). On television, he has appeared as Hemberg in the Netflix series Young Wallander (2020), Davo Sculdun in the Star Wars series Andor (2022-2025), and the Duke of Suffolk in Wolf Hall (2015), alongside roles in series like Peaky Blinders and Doctor Who. In the 2025 film Murder at the Embassy, he played the character Robert, the British Ambassador at the center of the mystery. Richard Dillane is married to Scottish actress Jayne McKenna, and they have three children.
