Richard Kind (born Richard Bruce Kind on November 22, 1956, in Trenton, New Jersey) is a prolific American actor and comedian, celebrated for his versatile performances across film, television, and stage. Growing up in Yardley, Pennsylvania, he developed an early interest in performing and later attended Northwestern University, graduating in 1978. Kind's comedic talents were further honed at The Second City in Chicago, an influential improvisational comedy troupe.His career gained significant momentum in television with prominent roles as Dr. Mark Devanow on the NBC sitcom "Mad About You" (1992-1999, 2019) and as Paul Lassiter on the ABC political sitcom "Spin City" (1996-2002), often performing both roles concurrently.
