Riteish Deshmukh is a versatile Indian actor, filmmaker, and television presenter, renowned for his comedic roles in Hindi and Marathi cinema. Born on December 17, 1978, in Latur, Maharashtra, he is the son of the late Vilasrao Deshmukh, former Chief Minister of Maharashtra. Riteish pursued a Bachelor of Architecture degree from the Kamla Raheja Vidyanidhi Institute for Architecture and Environmental Studies in Mumbai. He further honed his acting skills at The Lee Strasberg Theatre & Film Institute in New York City, where he trained while working as an architect before transitioning to acting. Riteish made his Bollywood debut in 2003 with Tujhe Meri Kasam, alongside Genelia D’Souza, who later became his wife. He gained popularity with films like Masti (2004), Dhamaal (2007), Housefull (2010), Kyaa Super Kool Hain Hum (2012), and Grand Masti (2013). His performances in these films showcased his impeccable comic timing and versatility. In 2022, Riteish ventured into filmmaking with his directorial debut, Ved, a Marathi-language film that became the highest-grossing Marathi film of 2022 and the third highest-grossing Marathi film of all time.
