Rob Moran is an American actor and producer, born May 12, 1963, in Boston, Massachusetts. He is widely recognized for his recurring roles in numerous comedy films directed by the Farrelly brothers, a professional association that significantly shaped his career. His notable credits in their movies include playing the bartender in Dumb and Dumber (1994), Stanley Osmanski in Kingpin (1996), Detective Stabler in There's Something About Mary (1998), Trooper Finneran in Me, Myself & Irene (2000), a transsexual hostess in Shallow Hal (2001), and Ed Long in Hall Pass (2011). Beyond comedy, Moran is known for his work in both television and drama, serving as a series regular as Arthur Carlin, the family patriarch, on the teen drama South of Nowhere (2005–2008), and playing a rare lead role as the doomed father, Paul, in the critically acclaimed horror-thriller You're Next (2011). Having graduated from Emerson College, Moran has amassed over 60 film and television credits throughout his career, often appearing in guest roles on procedural dramas such as CSI: Miami, Cold Case, and NUMB3RS.
