Robert Lyle Knepper is an American actor born on July 8, 1959, in Fremont, Ohio, and raised in Maumee, Ohio. His interest in acting was sparked at an early age due to his mother's involvement as a props-handler at a community theater. After graduating from Maumee High School in 1977, he went on to study drama at Northwestern University, where he began securing professional roles in plays in Chicago. He later moved to New York City to further his theatre career, eventually transitioning into television and film in 1986.Knepper is widely recognized for his portrayal of the cunning and violent psychopath Theodore "T-Bag" Bagwell in the highly successful Fox drama series Prison Break (2005–2009, 2017), a role that earned him a Satellite Award nomination. His extensive filmography also includes notable roles in movies such as Hitman (2007), Transporter 3 (2008), The Day the Earth Stood Still (2008), Jack Reacher: Never Go Back (2016), and The Hunger Games: Mockingjay – Part 1 (2014) and Part 2 (2015).
