Robert Strange (formerly known by the stage name Robert Nairne) is a British and New Zealander actor and creature performer who holds a degree in Biochemistry from Oxford University and trained at the Oxford School of Drama. Known for his physically demanding roles, he has built a specialized career in creature performance, appearing as the Orc Glûg in The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power, the Bogeyman in Doctor Who, and the Eelfinn in The Wheel of Time. His diverse screen credits also include roles in Star Wars: The Force Awakens, Rogue One, The Crown, and Penny Dreadful, while his stage work has seen him perform in productions of Metamorphosis and The Pied Piper of Hamelin. In the 2026 psychological horror film Return to Silent Hill, he portrays the iconic antagonist Red Pyramid (Pyramid Head), a role for which he has teased a "remarkable" and "jaw-dropping" new creative take for modern audiences.
