Robin Bartlett
Robin Bartlett is an American film, stage, and television actress who was born on April 22, 1951, in New York City. She was raised in Manhattan, and both of her parents were psychologists. Bartlett attended the High School of Performing Arts before earning a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from Boston University in 1973. She began her career in theater, appearing in a production of Richard III in 1973, and later had a supporting role and was an understudy in Yentl on Broadway in 1975, earning an Obie Award and Drama Desk Award nomination for her 1986 performance in The Early Girl. She made her feature film debut in Heaven's Gate (1980) and appeared in numerous supporting roles throughout the following decades, including in films like Sophie's Choice (1982), Moonstruck (1987), Lean on Me (1989), Postcards from the Edge (1990), Dangerous Minds (1995), City of Angels (1998), Shutter Island (2010), Inside Llewyn Davis (2013), and The Fabelmans (2022). On television, Bartlett is best known for her recurring role as Debbie Buchman, the sister of Paul Reiser's character, in the sitcom Mad About You (1994–1999). She also had a recurring role in the short-lived series The Powers That Be and has had guest roles on series such as Judging Amy, Dragnet, and The West Wing. In 2013, she appeared in two seasons of American Horror Story: Asylum and American Horror Story: Coven. She was married to actor Alan Rosenberg from 1976 until their divorce in 1984, and later married fiction writer Terence Cannon in 1990, with whom she has one son named Eamon, born in 1987. She also appeared as Norma in the 2024 film Shelby Oaks.
