Rory Cochrane
Rory Cochrane is an American actor born on February 28, 1972, in Syracuse, New York. He spent most of his childhood in England before returning to New York City to attend the LaGuardia High School of Performing Arts. He is widely recognized as an intense character actor known for both cult classics and mainstream television. His breakout role was as the philosophical stoner Ron Slater in Richard Linklater's 1993 film Dazed and Confused. He also played Lucas in Empire Records (1995) and reunited with Linklater for the rotoscoped sci-fi film A Scanner Darkly (2006). On television, Cochrane is best known for his role as Tim Speedle in the hit crime drama series CSI: Miami from 2002 to 2004. He has since appeared in major films, including the Oscar-winning Lee Schatz in Argo (2012) and Boston mobster Stephen Flemmi in Black Mass (2015). More recently, he played Detective Deline in Boston Strangler (2023) and has a role as Detective Dillard in the TV series Yellowstone (2024). He also appears as Beatty, the FBI counterpart to the lead character, in the 2024 film King Ivory. He has won and been nominated for several ensemble awards, including winning a Screen Actors Guild Award for Outstanding Performance by a Cast in a Motion Picture for Argo.
