He earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Theatre from the University of Colorado before relocating to Los Angeles in 2006 to pursue his acting career. Marquand gained widespread recognition for his portrayal of Aaron on AMC's The Walking Dead, becoming the series' first openly gay male character.
