After graduating from Wesleyan University with a history major, he initially worked as a freelance HTML programmer before venturing into the entertainment industry. He gained early experience directing music videos and commercials for various brands and artists.Fleischer made a significant splash with his feature film directorial debut, the zombie-comedy Zombieland (2009), which was both a critical and commercial success and showcased his distinctive style of combining action, humor, and genre elements.
